And here’s a note from our favourite weak little asthmatic, Sara…

Friends,

I am just so sorry that we’ve had to postpone our shows tonight and tomorrow at the Beacon. Its been a really hard day for me because I just HATE canceling ANYTHING. I hate weakness and admitting that I feel really awful. In our whole career we’ve never canceled due to illness and I guess we’ve become used to the idea that persevering was optimal! I was reminded of the time we played London, Ontario in 2003 and I had a terrible cold and I took too many medications and threw up in a hotel lobby before the show. I lay in that hotel bed wishing Tegan would come through the door and tell me we didn’t have to perform, but instead she brought be a bag of chips and some ginger ale and helped tie up my winter boots. I’m proud of our endurance and I believe we’ve always given our best on stage even under the worst circumstances! But, I do believe its best for my health and for our fans who paid top dollars for those plush Beacon seats to see THE BEST show we can do. I will say that I am much funnier with the plague running through my body (I’ve been cracking myself up all day thanks to the medications I’m on!) but I promise to really crank out some stories at the rescheduled shows. To those of you who flew, or drove or didn’t hear about it until too late, please accept my apology for any inconvenience~! We hope you’ll all be able to attend our rescheduled dates in the near future.
