HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US! It’s not just our birthday today, it’s also the day we get to announce that we have a new song—our first since 2022—coming out September 25th!
“Our Year” features our friends and fellow Canadians Lights and Felix Cartal.
The four of us are all West Coast-based, and the inspiration for the song came from our messy relationship with this beautiful city we call home, this beautiful part of the world we choose to live in, and this complicated, sometimes deeply frustrating job we all have.
But more broadly, “Our Year” is about the exasperation of watching another year get away from you, mixed with the slightly delusional but very real hope that maybe this year really might be your year.
You’ve given us so much over the years, and it feels exciting to celebrate this big day by sharing something new with you. A little thank you for all the years you’ve given us. TWENTY-EIGHT of them in this wild business of ours. Hard to believe, but we are immensely grateful to still be making things together and still getting to share them with you.
