We couldn’t be more proud to see Everything is Awesome has been nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song!! This was the first time we contributed to a track that was specifically written for a film, and it’s been a real thrill to watch it become such a popular song with people of all ages! On our tour dates last fall with Katy Perry we performed a version of it, and the venues would light up as kids and their parents recognized the song and all chimed in on the chorus. We felt like we were part of something really special.
A huge congrats to the writers Shawn Patterson, Joshua Bartholomew, Lisa Harriton and our friends The Lonely Island, and producer Mark Mothersbaugh. And an even bigger thanks for asking us to be a part of it!
